JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY

We are focused on “turning students into players.”

Our Mission

To create a safe fun learning environment for young people to explore the game of golf physically, mentally and socially with support from trained PGA professionals and associates enhancing their performance through fundamentally sound instruction, physical exercises and drills, goal setting and focused games.

Parent/Guardian Expectations

Juniors will learn in a safe environment. Instructors will maintain the proper credentials for safety and ensure that the well being of all students is priority. Students will be monitored by instructors to ensure that they are safe physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially to have the best experience the Junior Academy offers.

Junior Academy Code of Conduct:

Juniors will be expected to have the highest respect for themselves, others and their surroundings. This will be apparent in their dress, speech and actions while attending camp. Instructors will make all assessments regarding juniors and the code of conduct during the camp sessions.

Camp Descriptions:

Ages 4-6

Exposure and Active Learning 1: (Formerly Pee Wee ages 5-7): This is an exposure camp which introduces students to the rudimentary aspects of the golf game and swing. Golf fundamentals will be learned though active games with students exploring different types of motion. FUN is the focus of this camp.

Ages 7-9 and 10-12

FUNdamental Play and Learn to Train: (Formerly 3 Day Golf Camps ages 8-13): This camp is an exposure and developmental in structure. Students will continue to learn from the activity-based model of games and challenges found in earlier camps with the encouragement of coaches questioning the results. Students will identify the cause-and-effect relationship between sound fundamentals and quality golf shots, learning to repeat the fundamentals. Drills and exercises will be introduced.

Ages 13-15 and 16 -18

Training to Train: (Formerly Intermediate Summer Program): Students will be coached in ways to train. Stretching, isotonic body movements specific to golf, key positions in the golf swing and balance points will be focused upon with drills and exercises. Students will learn how to practice developing a repeatable fundamentally sound golf swing. Competition will be introduced but results will focus more on process through practice than performance.

Ages 7-18

The Players Course/ OP 36: Students learn to compete at every level and age group. This is the playing component to our golf academy. Students will play the golf course at the specific distance for their age. Students will identify with successful outcomes and the score 36 will have an indelible mark on their psyche.  All students should be enrolled in this program as they continue through the stages of our golf camps. Players are developed in this portion of our program. This is a standalone program from our camps and needs to be registered separately from junior camps.
